Believe us; we love a waxwork as much as the next person. Especially one as glamorous as a Kate Middleton and Prince William one! And now it has come to our attention that another sort of royal (sure, not an actual member of the royal family), King Karl has been immortalised in wax. Hooray!
Naturellement the Chanel boss’s life-size likeness is donning his favourite black leather fingerless gloves, as well as sunglasses, crisp white shirt collar and black suit. Tres chic monsieur Lagerfeld. We also love that his waxwork wears a quizzical expression, perhaps he is looking for his fellow white haired companion and mega-tweeter Choupette le chat? The really are a dream team.
The waxwork is currently on display in Karl’s German hometown Hamburg. The Panoptikum wax museum, Germany’s oldest, seems like a fittingly eccentric home for Karl’s doppelganger, as its mission statement is “The biggest personalities. Garantiert ohne Starallüren. Guaranteed without airs and graces.” Hehe!

What do you think of it, do you reckon it is a good likeness? Speaking of Karl likenesses, we also found this sweet tweet yesterday uploaded by the Art Director for the New York City Opera, Victor-John Villaneuva. He randomly bumped into Kate Bosworth on prince Street NYC, who noticed his homemade Karl Lagerfeld Perler bead necklace. Impressed no doubt by the likeness Kate let John and his colleague know that he was in fact just down the street, and they should go meet him. And they did! They even managed to get a few snaps with Lagerfeld, such a coup!
