Angelina Jolie To Direct 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Film Adaptation?

It’s the book that set the literary world alight when it started being passed around friendship groups worldwide and now, the story that put erotic novels back on the map is being made into a film. We’ve already heard rumours of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone playing lead characters, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey but we think this is more a projection of the entire female population’s desire to see Ryan Gosling play such a, er, role. But, the most exciting news has to be the possibility of Angelina Jolie directing the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie!

With Ange currently filming ‘Maleficent’, the Disney film which will tell the story of Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of the evil witch who Angelina will play opposite Elle Fanning, and the screen adaptation of E L James’ Fifty Shades of Grey (pictured top left) - purchased by Universal Studios for a whopping seven figures – set to begin production soon, the actress will have to get a move on if she wants the job.

Having made her directorial film debut with ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ which emotionally charts a star-crossed romance during the Bosnian War, we’re sure the actress could handle transferring the steamy story onto the big screen.

So, with the director’s spot (potentially) filled, we’re just awaiting news of who will play 22-year-old Anastasia and 27-year-old billionaire, Christian. We’ve heard on the gossip grapevine that the parts could go to Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale and The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder.

Who would you want as the leads?
