How can it be that a whole action-packed series of Made In Chelsea has come to an end? (Sob) Why, it seems like only yesterday that season three started and Grazia Daily was bringing you an exclusive insight into the most fabulous wardrobe on the show – no, we're not talking about Millie Mackintosh. We mean Mr Ollie Locke!
You'll remember at the time, we brought you the exciting news that Ollie had been invited to speak at Oxford University by 'Oxford Fashion Campus', the University's fashion club. Well, guess what? He did! Last week! Just days after another world famous fashionista Donatella Versace would you believe? As Olls is a Grazia Party People columnist (see this week’s issue), we went along for the ride (in his Union Jaguar, obviously) and had quite a splendid time along with his marvellous mother, Sarah.
For a man who – by his own admittance – has appeared on ‘worst dressed’ lists in both the UK and the States, Ollie is really quite informed about the world of fashion. Yes, he might have a passion bordering on loony for everything Union Jack and yes, he was once fond of oversized ladies jewels, but we say hurrah to all that and so did the hundreds of Oxford students who turned out to see him.
Winging it somewhat with just a few jotted notes, Ollie spoke brilliantly for a good forty minutes while looking very dapper in a Patrick Cox jacket, Ozwald Boateng shirt, Monkee jeans and Paolo Vanidini shoes. He discussed the realities of being a reality TV star, before going on to offer his take on men’s fashion: ‘When you look at best dressed lists full of the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, James Franco, all you see is endless pages of suit and tie, suit and tie... No one dares to wear anything different. That’s where I think men’s fashion has gone wrong,' he says.
'Although I’ve recently been getting more into suits, mainly because my mother and I have found ourselves attending so many funerals recently. But I like to spice up a suit, do something different.’ We like it. See Ollie in action with our exclusive videos below...
