TV BAFTA Awards 2012 With MAC: Lydia Bright, Olivia Grant and Emily Atack On Their Red Carpet Tips PLUS Kate Middleton's Style

The Stars Reveal Their Red Carpet Tips >>

When a red carpet awaits, what could be better than a myriad of suites to get you all glammed-up? That's exactly what greeted Grazia Daily when we arrived at the Corinthia Hotel in London last night ahead of the TV BAFTA Awards.

Mark Hill and his team of hair angels were on hand to create a parade of magnificent bouffants, House of Fraser displayed glorious gowns to be plucked from the rails, Carat bejewelled the stars in their glistening gems, St Tropez created glowing golden goddesses and the beauty maestros at MAC Cosmetics were layering on fluttery lashes and red lips. Phewf! So after several hours of pampering and preening, TV's finest - we're talking everyone from Holly Willoughby to Millie Mackintosh - were red carpet ready.

Meanwhile, Grazia Daily was NOT being beautified (honest) - we were far too busy grilling the stars on their glamourpuss tips. And with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee as the theme of the night, it'd be rude NOT to discuss HRH's magnificent style (as well as that of a certain Kate Middleton). Lydia Bright in Dynasty

What are wearing? This is a dress from Dynasty, which is a brand that's stocked at my shop - I'm lucky that I get first pick of the pieces which arrive but I still like to plan ahead. I love the glamming-up process and an awards ceremony is the perfect excuse.

What are your red carpet essentials? MAC lipgloss is a must-have, lash glue just in case and hair pins in case your up 'do falls out of place.

What's your advice for staying cool? Don't wear layers and choose something floaty. I was going to wear a beautiful dress covered in crystals but it was black with long sleeves so I had to change it at the last minute. I'm not wearing that in the heat!

What do you make of the royal style? I love Kate Middleton's conservative and classic outfits. She shops a lot in Reiss and I love Reiss - I've copied a few of her dresses actually! And wouldn't she look great with a pin curl in her hair?

Beauty products used? Face: Matchmaster foundation, Mineralize Skinfinish in medium, Buff blusher. Eyes: Paint Pot in Groundwork, Vanilla Eyeshadow, Haux Eyeshadow, Smolder Kohl Pencil, Fluidline in Blacktrack. Lips: Spice Lip Pencil, Ample Pink Plushglass (all by M.A.C)

Olivia Grant in Dolce & Gabbana

What are you wearing? 'I visited Dolce & Gabbana HQ yesterday to choose this. The brand knows how to work the sexy look and because I'm petite but curvy, I've worn their dresses on several occasions.

And the hair? 'The bigger, the better! This is the handy work of Mark Hill and I kept asking for more backcombing!'

Any red carpet essentials? 'I like individual eyelashes towards the end of the eyes to create that flicked shape but I never wear eyeliner.'

Tip to keeping cool? 'Wearing a floaty dress that's not too formal - like this one!'

Thoughts on the Royal style? 'The Queen digs pastels so I'm a fan. There have been debates about whether Kate Middleton dresses too conversatively but I think it's really nice that she supports British talent - I wore Susannah to the polo recently who's been working with the royals. Also you don't want Kate Middleton to dress too sexy!'

Emily Atack in Biba

What are you wearing? 'This dress is by Biba. I was so lucky that I got to go into a massive room full of gorgeous dresses and pick one to wear. I'm quite specific when it comes to my style but they were all so beautiful, you can't go wrong.'

And your beauty look? 'I'm a girl who likes to wear a lot of makeup and I like big hair although on the red carpet I tone it down to be a bit classy.'

Thoughts on the Royal style? 'The Queen has got it going on! I loved that primrose yellow outfit she wore to the Royal Wedding. As for Kate Middleton, she's got such a good body looks great in anything.'

Beauty products used? Face: Studio Fix Foundation NW30, Pro Longwear Concealer NW30, Studio Fix Powder NW30, Powder Blush in Pinch Me. Eyes: Eye Brows Pencil in Linguering, Romp and Carbon Eyeshadows, Texture Eyeshadow, Fluideline in Blacktrack, Haute & Naughty Mascara. Lips: Lip Pencil in Spice (All by M.A.C)

Zoe Hardman in Sophia Kah

What are you wearing? 'This is by Sophia Kah. If you're going to go all out, the BAFTAs is the night to do it and I usually get my legs out but tonight I thought I'd opt for something really glam and more demure. This was the first dress I tried on and I was like, 'done.' I know exactly what shape works on me and what colours I can wear. I never wear red, for example, and I'm not a huge fan of green so I stick to pastels and corals in the summer.'

And your beauty look? 'My mum always taught me not to forget about my face so I try not to wear too much make-up. I've made that mistake in the past where I didn't recognise my own face so I've just gone for lashes and a flick of eyeliner.'

What's your tip for surviving in the heat? 'Drink a lot of champagne!'

Alex Jones

What are you wearing? 'I found this dress yesterday and I hadn't tried it on until tonight but I knew that I wanted a citrus number. I never ever wear black.'

Talk us through your makeup. 'I wanted the focus to be a colour-popping coral lip so MAC just put black liner and lashes on my eyes.'
