Blimey. That Kate Moss is an excitable one isn’t she? Last night, Grazia joined the model and her hubby Jamie Hince – who we must say scrubs up rather well in a tux – for an incredible Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraising Dinner at Claridge's Hotel.
Mossy was like a bull in a china shop dancing like a mad woman when Ronnie Wood took to the stage for a surprise set, papping guests with erm, David Bailey’s camera after swiping it off him and singing along to R&B artist Sam Moore’s performance. But it was all in the name of a good cause.
Hosted by Heather Kerzner, the evening started with a champagne reception attended by Princess Beatrice and Geri Halliwell and a host of incredible Marie Curie nurses, before we all headed into the beautiful ballroom for a three course dinner. And the ballroom was filled with beautiful yellow paper flowers as an ode to Marie Curie’s daffodil emblem: a reminder of the reason we were all there.
After dinner, auctioneer Lord Harry Dalmeny dressed in tartan trousers kicked off an auction of a whole range of items including a painting of Rod Stewart by Ronnie Wood. Kate Moss took to the stage to encourage the bidding – and drummed up a £12,000 bid! Of course. All in all £620,000 was raised, and an amazing evening was had by all. Geri Halliwell told us: ‘It was an honour being here tonight, the work Marie Curie does is just incredible.’
What we ate: Quail egg and asparagus salad, roasted rack of lamb and rosewater parfait.
What we drank: Laurent-Perrier.
