The Duchess of Cambridge on a visit to Fortnum & Mason in March
While doing a spot of shopping on Saturday afternoon, who should Grazia Daily spy on London’s Kings Road? None other than Kate Middleton - that's the Duchess of Cambridge to you and I - happily pottering around the shops before spending the day with Princes William and Harry at the polo on Sunday. She popped into Anthropologie where she was seen eyeing up the luscious langoustine dinner plate for £24 - a new addition for her and hubby William's cottage in Anglesey perhaps? - as well as the Ines column dress for £158, although she left the store empty-handed.
Next, the DoC paid a visit to French Connection where she bought this simple vest in iceberg blue, perfect for that sporty vibe of hers, for a bargaintastic £49. The silk vest is available in stores and online NOW at www.frenchconnection.com so go, go, GO!
And what's the Duchess like in real life, you ask? Well we, of course, had a good study of her royal credentials and let us tell you this: she is utterly stunning up-close. No surprises there then. Her tight black sports trousers that flared on the calf showed off those super-toned legs and a VERY peachy bottom (P-Middy, who?) and were teamed with a cropped cream cardigan over a white T-shirt. She was wearing a pair of casual trainers and was carrying her favourite Polly Push Lock bag from Mulberry while some '60s-style sunglasses were sat a-top her tumbling brunette waves.
Understandably, everyone around Kate couldn't help but gawp, although two protection officers in plain clothing kept a close eye on her. One of the burly men was carrying an armful of Jaeger bags so you can bet we'll be on high alert for one of those beauties making a Middy outing any day now...
