It’s been the question on our lips since the unlikely love affair began almost three years ago – just how did David Walliams manage to bag his supermodel wife, Lara Stone? Was it his, err, irresistible good looks? His cheeky-chappy charm, or his old romantic ways? Well, we expect you’ll be amazed to hear that it was in fact none of the above. Nope, the lovely Lara has finally revealed how David won her heart – by stalking her.
Speaking to Dutch Vogue, Lara implied that it was David’s persistence which caught her eye and – we’ve got to hand it to him – it obviously worked. And she says it wasn’t love at first sight, at least not for her: ‘To him it was,’ she giggled. ‘He stalked me!’
Just months after we were left open mouthed that the pair were dating in September 2009, they were engaged in January 2010 and married in May that year. Now, they’re celebrating their second wedding anniversary on Wednesday – and they couldn’t be happier. (Aww...)
We can’t quite imagine Lara cracking Little Britain style jokes, but the supermodel says it’s their shared sense of humour that makes the relationship work.
She also told the magazine that they share a sense of individuality, adding: 'I think people like it when you have a bit of personality.
'It helps that I am not afraid to say what I want to do and what I don’t want to do.'
But there’s no sign of any impeccably beautiful, very tall and crazy-funny babies making their way into the world just yet – Lara says she’s quite happy with their pet Border Terrier puppy, Bert, which they bought for Valentine’s Day this year.
She said: 'A baby will probably never be as fun as Bert.' Well, that’s one way of seeing it…
