Carine Does An Anna: Mademoiselle Roitfeld to Star in 'September Issue'-Style Documentary!

14 May 2012 by

If The September Issue is one of your fash film faves, get ready for some serious thrills. While we all loved being a fly on the wall, up close and personal with Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington, news that former French Vogue Editor, Carine Roitfeld (aka the Queen of porno chic) is about to star in a new film, Mademoiselle C, is BEYOND exciting. Set to chart the launch of her highly anticipated magazine (in September, bien sur!) CR Fashion Book, the Editor in Chief has been shadowed for the past few months by director Fabien Constant (the producer behind both the Mark Jacobs & Vuitton and Sonia Rykiel TV documentaries).

Rumours have already hinted at the inclusion of industry big guns including Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld and Donatella Versace and it’s reported that Constant has been following the editrice par excellence both in and out of the office – fingers crossed we’ll finally get a peek into Carine’s wardrobe.

No doubt chronicling the rollercoaster of highs and lows which come with the launch of a magazine, we are looking forward to seeing Carine navigate the insane pressure of opening her own title. And as she’s known for speaking her mind – famously admitting that she now doesn’t speak to Emmanuelle Alt, French Vogue’s current Editor and colleague for 10 years – we might finally get to the bottom of the reasons behind her surprise resignation.

Having told us that her magazine will be seeking “new ways to be irreverent” and that her shoots would be “not necessarily safer, but different”, we can also look forward to a heavy dose of fashion fierceness both in the studio – unlike Anna Wintour, Roitfeld is a stylist rather than a writer – and in the office. Quaking with anticipation…!
