Forget Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson aka, Summer Roberts, was our girl crush during the height of O.C.-mania. Her on-screen – and later off-screen - romance with Adam Brody (The O.C.’s Seth Cohen) made for a seriously cute celebrity couple, whilst Rachel crept higher up best-dressed lists with her effortlessly chic and on-trend wardrobe. The O.C. ended in 2007, by which point Rachel had broken into movies, co-starring with Zach Braff in romantic drama The Last Kiss and, later, opposite Hayden Christensen (more of him later) in action-flick Jumper.
Rachel is back on our screens tonight with her new show, Hart of Dixie. In it, she plays recently qualified surgeon Zoe Hart, who hopes for a job in her native New York but when the gig falls is left no option but to head to a surgery in Bluebell, Alabama. We’ve seen the feel-good comedy-drama and can report back – it’s well worth a view. Sure, it’s a tad predictable and might not win any awards for original script, but Rachel is on top form as a fast-talking, high-heel clad city girl adapting to life in the rural south. Think Sweet Home Alabama only with more hot men and doctor-jargon.
Can’t wait for tonight? Watch this hilarious Funny or Die promo clip, proving Rachel’s comedy chops. Girl can rap too!
Aaaaaand she’s not let her fashion cred slip either. Always sporting the cutest skirts, classic blazers and boho dresses with a slick accessory to match, Rachel sure knows her style. And we want it. Karl Lagerfeld adores her (fashion praise indeed), and she’s even got her own shoe collection for Shoemint!
As if we couldn't love her more, have you SEEN her boyfriend? After meeting and falling in love on of their movie Jumper, Rachel and Hayden Christensen have been pretty much inseparable ever since. We wonder why… As hot Hollywood couples go, they’d give Brad and Ange a run for their millions any day.
So while we wait for Hart Of Dixie to begin (the first episode is aired on Really tonight at 8pm!), let's remember Summer Roberts’ finest O.C. moments…*sigh*
