She's already impressed the fash pack with a chic Rebecca Taylor ensemble this afternoon and wowed the crowd in a Matthew Williamson frock at the 'African Cats' premiere last night and now Kate Middleton is back! For her second royal outing of the day, she's with Prince William at a reception to launch the Imperial War Museum Foundation's 'First World War Galleries: Centenary Campaign'. So what's she wearing for the red carpet shindig?

Clarence House have informed Grazia Daily that her charcoal knee-length frock comes courtesy of Amanda Wakeley, the Brit designer who has dressed A-list types from Angelina Jolie, Amber Heard and Heidi Klum. Kate's accessorised the sleek look with a gold and black chain belt, Temple of Heaven 9ct yellow gold Girandole earrings by Cassandra Goad (available here for £1,220) and the black Jimmy Choo heels we've seen before. And doesn't her hair look super sophisticated in that demi chignon with a slight bouffant?

This isn't the first time the Duchess has selected a touch of the Wakeley. Most memorably, Kate attended her first solo engagement last October wearing a sweeping gown from the designer's Autumn Winter 2006 catwalk. Prior to that, she chose a vintage navy Amanda Wakeley suit for a trip to Witton County Park a week before her wedding and when she visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in September, she sported a light grey Spring Summer 2011 dress with her favourite nude LK Bennett pumps.

In fact, tonight's dress is the charcoal version of that oatmeal-toned frock she wore before. According to the brilliant What Kate Wore blog, Kate purchased the style in three colours last year for £450 each. Talk about sticking to what you know...
