Think Vivienne Westwood, think quintessential Brit fashion, right? So who better to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth with an honorary collection than the patriotic designer herself?
That's right, folks, Viv has just unveiled a range of glamorous frocks in celebration of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee (check out the beauties in the gallery above). The Red Carpet Capsule Collection stays true to the opulent Westwood archive so is characteristically elegant yet powerful and - tres excitingly - actual gowns that our actual Queen has worn influenced the designs! Although we can't say we recall HRH wearing a Union Jack corseted gown covered in sequins...*ahem*

Westwood's new collection of dresses is perfect for a princess
But have a swoon over these demure numbers fit for a Queen (or indeed a Duchess). The colour palette is far softer and more feminine than the usual Westwood fare - see the subtle greys, aquas, powder pinks and corals - and the designs come in luxurious fabrics - think silk satins, taffeta, organza crepe de chine and double georgettes. There's elegance a-plenty thanks to draped Grecian-inspired cocktail dresses and even a bridal-esque white floor-sweeper.

The pieces will be available from Vivienne Westwood stores from May, as will this mega bling. 'My clothes allow you to project your personality, and are quite theatrical in the sense that they are real clothes, well-designed, and they give you a chance to express yourself,' says Lady Westwood. 'They are also inviting people to respond to them and want to come and talk to you. You have a much more interesting life if you wear impressive clothes'. And there's no doubt our Queenie is one seriously stylish muse. But the question is: will Kate Middleton try one on for size?
