Florence Welch's Stylist Dishes On Last Night's Naeem Khan Dress For The Teenage Cancer Trust Show: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Florence Welch's Stylist Chats About Last Night's Naeem Khan Dress At Royal Opera House: EXCLUSIVE

Lovely Florence Welch, how you spoil us so! It’s been a little while since we’ve seen the flame haired songstress on stage, and whilst we’ve had some brilliant off-duty outfits to keep us all fashion-happy (remember the double floral Moschino and paisley Kenzo pajama suits?), her stunning Naeem Khan gown and Charlotte Olympia heels for last night’s Royal Albert Hall appearance simply blew Grazia HQ away.  Just. How. Gorgeous. Please?

“Even though we had quite a few gowns to choose from, we both instantly fell in love with the Naeem dress and it felt right for the grand setting.” Florence’s super-stylist Aldene Johnson told Grazia exclusively, “The minute it went on it just fitted her so perfectly. She’s actually worn Naeem a couple of times before – for some promo shots and also at the VH1 Diva Awards.”

The bronze lace piece (which sits so snugly you’d easily be mistaken for assuming it was bespoke) is actually from the Indian-born American designer’s next autumn winter collection and was noticeably free of those extra layers of chiffon, fringing or capes that we’re so used to seeing Flo swoosh around in. Aldene explained to us that this was all for a reason, “Normally her sets are full of movement and so that’s when capes or full sleeves come in, but this performance was really still and it needed an elegant dress to match.”

Naeem’s glamorous gowns are already an A-list favourite, with other graceful women like Beyoncé, Michelle Obama and Rosie Huntington Whitely choosing his head-turning creations for big occasions. “Florence has the innate poise to pull off a dress like this,” Aldene said, “especially when it has this amazing slit up the side to show off her great legs!” Well then, we’re all in agreement there!
