Eggs-traordinary Easter Treats From Vivienne Westwood

Easter is just a few days away which means we can all look forward to gorging ourselves silly on copious amounts of cocoa based products (after going to church, obvs). Not just content with receiving the usual egg-shaped chocolate treats – yawn – we have hunted down the most fabulous, decadent and inspired creations in the confectionary world AND as an Easter treat to you, we thought we’d share our findings. Warning – you’re about to start salivating…

Combining the best of British, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with royal favourites Fortnum & Mason to create an exclusive collection of hand-crafted eggs in beautiful packaging – our favourite is this gorgeous egg filled with Marc de Champagne truffles (£37.50) - yum! ‘I love the feeling of tradition- this collection accompanies both brands’ traditions.’ Says Vivienne. ‘Together we made the decision to encase the chocolates in a cocoon of luxury - everything cosy, elegant, cultured.’ Here here.

Now we can’t decide if these works of art by celebrated pastry chef and chocolatier Oriol Balaguer can even be eaten because they are quite simply, stunning (but obvs, we’ll try)! These unique limited edition Easter eggs are made from the best chocolate in the world and then sprayed with coloured sugar creating a velvet effect. The London at Twilight and Psychedelia eggs are available from Selfridges, priced at £150.

If you’ve got more than a few pounds to spare then head down to La Maison du Chocolat and feast your eyes on this masterpiece! Retailing at a whopping £500, the hand-made Chocorico weighs in at an incredible 5.1kg of chocolate. Possibly one to share with the family…

Belgian Chocolatiers Boon have launched their new Easter range exclusively in Harrods Food Halls - we LOVE this beautiful large Birdcage Egg, £150. Devouring something so gorgeous seems criminal, but we think we can make peace with it.

And if you're not looking to shell out quite so many pennies, fear not because Hotel Chocolat still have an incredible selection of gorgeous eggs and chocolate treats which won't break the bank. This Zebra Beastie Egg is a delicious £15 accompanied by 6 caramel and praline mini-eggs - yum!

Now, where exactly did we leave our gym kit?!?
