Burberry Snags Up And Coming Brit Bands To Front Its Summer Eyewear Campaign

No wonder Burberry is one of the biggest Brit brands going - today sees the release of the brand-spanking new collection of stylish his 'n' hers sunglasses for Summer 2012. With a summer full of festivals ahead, we're loving the lightweight frames, the gorgeous gold and bronze colour palette and the classic aviator styles that nail that rock 'n' roll vibe. So who better to sport the shades than a bevy of British music's most promising musical talent handpicked by finger-on-the-pulse Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey?

The super-cool campaign, which in true Burberry style is the first of its kind, features Brighton-based singer/songwriter Marika Hackman, Life in Film, The Daydream Club and One Night Only (you may recognise a certain George Craig - singer of One Night Only - from that previous Burberry campaign when he posed alongside ex-squeeze, Emma Watson).

But it's not just a collection of pretty pictures for us to gawp at - oh no. In fact, each week in April will see one of the talented acts release an exclusive track plus a music video shot on location in London (One Night Only's is up for grabs now). For a snippet of what to expect, you can check out the artists' exclusive past performances for the label on the brilliant Burberry Acoustic. Wowee, Mr Bailey has certainly scored himself a coup this time.

If you don't know these names yet then you soon will because not only will the singles soon be available on iTunes but, far more excitingly, the artists are headlining a series of exclusive Burberry concerts kicking off in Paris, Milan, New York and Sydney on the 3rd and 4th of May. Yes, you read that right: A BURBERRY CONCERT! Get yourself a ticket pronto.

So with stylish sunnies, a super soundtrack AND a series of gigs that are fashion firsts, it seems like Burberry has our summer sorted. Check out the gallery above to see more campaign shots and pick up your very own pair of sunnies at uk.Burberry.com.
