Calling all budding designers out there – it’s time to get your portfolios in order because today marks the official opening of Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s hunt for new fashion talent. Having launched the careers LFW stalwarts including Peter Pilotto, David Koma and William Tempest, VFS is known across the fashion world for its ‘ones to watch’ designer showcase. As well as the chance to stage a catwalk show (last season VFS presented 34 shows) entrants will have the opportunity to win the Merit Award complete with £25,000 to help develop a brand over three seasons.
Applicants can apply for catwalk, presentation and salon show sponsorship and both fashion and accessories designers can apply for both the London Exhibition and the Paris Showroom – where VFS brings London’s emerging design into the heart of the Marais during Paris fashion week.
Now in its 13th season of young talent incubation, the scheme offers the chance for young designers to show their work to a panel of fashion designers and fashion insiders who will hand-select the winners after applications close on Monday 30th April. Winners will also be offered a mentoring programme to help develop and maintain a successful brand with advice from industry experts with experience in sales, PR, production, branding, manufacturing and business planning.
So if you have a label and you’d love to show the world your designs for S/S 2013 email firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application form. For more information on the various VFS support schemes go to www.vauxhallfashionscout.com
