ASOS Cover Star Claire Danes Loves Prada, TOWIE and Sales Shopping!

02 April 2012 by

Did anyone see Homeland last night? Eeep! That Claire Danes is proper good, isn’t she? Our love for The Danes is at an all-time high – but to be honest, it’s been pretty strong ever since we empathised with seminal ‘90s example of angst-ridden teenage crapdom, Angela Chase in My So Called Life.

The American actress is back on our screens and more watchable than ever as Carrie Mathison, CIA officer with a major secret and some questionable hunches, and (we’re sorry) a very bad wardrobe indeed. It’s not that we expect every agent to go around in a chic raincoat and a pair of cool sunnies ALL the time, but Carrie’s ‘seriously-I’m-serious’ waistcoat tops, boot-cut office trousers and x-body handbag are uggles, even if they are appropriate for her character.

But just CHECK THIS OUT! Scroll through the gallery above and you'll find Claire Danes rocking some seriously fashionable outfits, and looking super-fine! Who persuaded her into these tropical prints and acid wash jeans? ASOS did! Just two days after her Best Actress Golden Globe win for Homeland, e-giant ASOS enjoyed this sunny shoot at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, so that New York’s girl-of-the-moment could grace the cover of their April issue.

Yes, she looks scorchingly sassy with her hair slicked back and those lithe limbs slipping into a selection of denim hot-pants and cut-off tees, but its Claire’s down-to-earth nature that we’ve always adored so. “I’m a sales slut.  I’m just very seduced by a sale,” she told ASOS of her shopping habits. “In New York buying clothes is fun, because it really is boutiquey.  I like Legacy and Opening Ceremony, and I love Prada.  I have a lot of J Brand and Citizens of Humanity jeans.”

But what else does she really love? The Only Way Is Essex! “Damn, I love that show... It is just so good.” She confessed, “We don’t have anything that rivals it.  I don’t even care if it’s real or not, it’s thoroughly entertaining.”
