COS' Spring Summer 2012 campaign
Earlier this week, rumours were swirling through the interweb that Hennes & Mauritz are plotting a new luxury line. Now news reaches us that the high street hero does indeed have a new retail chain in the works. Hurrah!
'We have many different projects in progress and already next year we will be launching a completely new store chain,' H&M chief executive officer Karl-Johan Persson tells WWD today. 'Like COS, which today is very successful with good profitability, the new chain of stores will be independent and complement the other offerings from the group.' The expansion has come about thanks to an increase in net profit for the Swedish retailer - a whooping £250m, no less.
How exciting. The Grazia girls have made no secret of our COS obsession (or rather CO-bsession), forever relying on the upscale chain's fab tailoring with an edge so can we expect more ultra modern minimalism from the new brand? Either way, it's always a treat to see a swanky new addition to the British highstreet and we have every faith this latest venture will get us salivating.
Although full details haven't been released on whether the clothes will be in the same price bracket as COS, what we do know is the new chain of stores will arrive in 2013.
