'Are you ready to go back to Titanic?' Yes, yes, we are! And tonight the ship of dreams has rolled into London town for the world premiere of 'Titanic 3D'. YEEEP!
Kate Winslet walked the colossal red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall looking every inch the Hollywood movie star thanks to a full-length gown in black silk crepe with Swarovski crystal cap sleeves and matching waist detail. Rose DeWitt Bukater would be proud. Although the beautiful English rose was without co-star Leonardo DiCaprio on her arm, she flawlessly accessorised the look with a striking red lip (Lisa Eldridge informs us it's Lancome's lip stain, btw) while her blonde tresses were swept into a classic retro style. As for those sparkly jewels, the 1950s diamond Day and Night earrings, bracelet and 1940s yellow square cut cocktail ring are from English jewellery house Goode & Son. Yep, 15 years after playing the iconic role, Kate looks as breath-taking as ever.
The gorgeous gown for tonight's premiere comes courtesy of Jenny Packham and is inspired by the British designer’s Autumn Winter 2012 Film Noir collection. When the collection hit the catwalk during New York Fashion Week last month, Grazia was bowled over by the designer's femme fatale frocks with plunging necklines and crystal embellishments that suit La Winslet's old school glamour to perfection. Because, of course, Kate is a long-time fan of Packham's work, having already worn several of her designs on red carpets across the globe. At the Cesar Film Awards just a few weeks ago, the star postively sparkled in a black and gold sequined gown with an oh-so-seductive plunging neckline, and at the Golden Globes in January, she looked utterly elegant in a monochrome dress with a silk keyhole bodice and ivory silk crepe skirt.
UPDATE: We've just spoken to our Jenny Packham pals who tell us: 'The dress took 5 days to create. Jenny presented Kate with the AW collection in London and this is a bespoke dress. Kate has worn Jenny Packham before and she really suits this contemporary take on old Hollywood glamour.'
So let's hear your verdict, folks. Have a scroll through the gallery above and let us know whether you're rating or hating Kate's look...
