The First Ever Issue of Vogue Netherlands Is Here: What Do YOU Think?

Did you know that until this moment there wasn’t a Dutch Vogue? No, us neither! We assumed that with this part of the world that being so populated with seriously hip girls that the Netherlands would have every fabulous mag available under the sun. So, as you can imagine, the newly launched magazine has seen interest and speculation build steadily over the past few months. Just what would be the first fashion offering?

The result is in and it’s good. Whilst the vintage-look inaugural cover has been criticised for erring on the cautious side, we think that once you see the first ever full shoot inside, styled by Marije Goekoop and shot by Marc De Groot, you will change your mind. Do you notice a certain Dolce and Gabbana quality about it, like we do? Well, the tried and tested fashion formula of getting a ton of freaking gorgeous models (Netherlands-born Ymre Stiekema (remember her Prada-related rise to modeldom?), Josefien Roderman and Romee Strijd all feature) and set up some improbably glamorous real-life situations on a bus/in a tattoo parlour/at a club, always works a treat for us. You can scroll through all of the images above and give us your opinion below...

Now, whilst we’re not one hundred percent sure of the trends and ideas the publication is offering – there’s quite a lot included in these spreads – we do concur that yes, you could wear that pale pink Viktor and Rolf satin coat cycling. And eating herrings in a Vuitton lace frock looks cute. And, hello? Who doesn’t ride a bus in a beautifully embroidered Prada number?
