After a series of private appointments, shrouded in secrecy, the world first got a glimpse of Tom Ford's uber-exclusive Autumn Winter 2012 collection when Gwyneth Paltrow hit the red carpet at the Oscar Awards last month. Her gorgeous white caped gown was heralded the success of the night and we were left clamouring for more from Mr Ford.

But the designer is renowned for making us wait for his latest creations, rather than allowing them to swarm through the interweb within seconds of hitting the catwalk, so when they do go public, everyone gets in a lather. So you can imagine the hysteria as a video of the Autumn Winter 2012 delights has just landed on YouTube.
A smorgasboard of snakeskin, alpaca and crocodile, the watchwords for the collection are certainly sexy and luxurious. Black leather gets a serious workout with knee-high boots, skintight skirts and tough jackets, while there's added va-va-voom thanks to crocodile-scale detailing on figure-skimming jersey dresses, statement wrestler-style belts and striking gold-plated bags. Voluminous alpaca coats in primary colours add pizazz to the secret agent-esque super-slim sihouette and some serious jewels (check out the pointed necklaces tied over simple black dresses) scream high society. And did you catch a glimpse of Gwynnie's gown? Yep, thanks to all that darting around in the video, there's no chance of us taking even one decent screengrab of the pieces. Good work, Mr Ford.
If you fancy yourself a piece or two then it might be time to sharpen those elbows. The fashion world has gone crazy for the collection and those canny celebs have been quick to get their mitts on the best bits. As well as La Paltrow, girl of the moment Jennifer Lawrence wore a black backless number to the 'Hunger Games' premiere in Paris while Tom Ford stalwart Julianne Moore went moss-green in a velvet long-sleeved gown at the premiere for new movie 'Game Change'. Which pieces will you be making a beeline for?
