Daniel Radcliffe on the 'Kill Your Darlings' set yesterday

Remember when James Franco played Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg in 2010 film ‘Howl’ and suddenly we were fancying boys in specs with curly hair? Well, our crush has been reignited after seeing shots of Daniel Radcliffe playing the very same role.

Images have landed from the set of ‘Kill Your Darlings’, which is currently being filmed in New York and we must say, the 22-year-old actor has grown from an adorable wizard child into a hunky young man. Hello Harry Hotter! Check out that scruffy hair, the sexy stubble and chiseled jaw. Sseriously, is anyone else reminded of Dan from 'Gossip Girl'?

Spot the difference: Daniel Radcliffe and Penn Badgley

We swoon! Daniel plays a roll-neck-wearing Ginsberg alongside girl-of-the-moment Elizabeth Olsen in the thriller about a 1944 murder that brings together poets from the beat generation. If this means we'll be seeing more of him in that tweed jacket with those manly eyebrows and lack of ‘Woman In Black’ sideburns, we say bring it on.

James Franco as Allen Ginsberg in 'Howl'

Which leads us to our next question: could Mr Radcliffe be the new James Franco? Wait, hear us out. When the delicious Franco played the same character in 'Howl' [above], he had the hipster look down to a Beat T with his beard, glasses, curly barnet and plaid shirts, and yet, Daniel is winning our hearts in the hair stakes. Oh yes, geek chic has never looked hotter...

But who do you think makes the best Ginsberg? And are you crushing on our Daniel too?
