Earlier today, who should we spot landing at Narita International Airport in Japan? None other than trend-setter Sarah Jessica Parker sporting a sumptuous black velvet coat with a delectable pair of monochrome brogues. The actress has arrived in Toyko for a four-day Chanel extravaganza hosted by Karl Lagerfeld himself. How do we know? Because Grazia's very own Paula Reed has just landed too.
Yep, SJP, Paula and the rest of the Chanel elite will be treated to a re-staging of Chanel's couture show on THAT incredible jumbo jet and many a cocktail will be had at the opening of the brand's ephemeral boutique. But the fun really begins tomorrow night when an exhibition of photographs celebrating Chanel's iconic black tweed jacket will be revealed. The shots, which were taken by Unkle Karl himself, will be published in the gorgeous new book 'The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classic revisited'. To give us a sneak peek, our Chanel pals have dropped off a behind-the-scenes, making-of video. Hurrah!
The book's photo shoot partly took place at Chanel's Paris studio where the likes of Georgia May Jagger, Alice Dellal and Sarah Jessica all posed for Monsieur Lagerfeld's lens wearing the little black jacket in their own way. SJP chose to wear hers balanced a-top her head, natch. 'Among some other things in my life, I consider it a prize possession,' she says of the timeless classic. Carine Roitfeld dresses up as Coco Chanel herself in a straw boater and a string of pearls while Georgia goes for a sexy blonde bombshell vibe. Watch Lagerfeld's ladies in action below...
The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld is available in bookstores from Autumn 2012.
