From the parade of breath-taking dresses to the wooded forest at the end of the catwalk and the shack where Kristen McMenamy held court, McQ’s Autumn Winter 2012 show is one spectacle we won’t be forgetting any time soon. Which is why over one month later, we’re still eager to relive every moment. Not so long ago, we were all ears as Punchdrunk dished on the secrets behind creating such an extravaganza, and today the Brit brand have treated us to backstage film from the show.
In the 2:49 minute video (scroll down to watch), we see those incredible doughnut-esque hair pieces being backcombed into place, the crisp leaves being strewn across the catwalk and the knee-high boots being laced onto model legs. It’s enough to give us the tingles all over again.
The visual feast is part of the celebrations for Alexander McQueen’s new and improved website launch. There are runway videos galore plus, for the first time ever, McQ goodies are up for grabs on their very own micro-site (www.alexandermcqueen.com/mcq). What’s more, a “My McQueen” function allows you to create your own Pinterest-like page where you can collect your favourite McQueen images from the mammoth archive, including campaigns and catwalk shots. And don’t go skipping over the online boutique for McQueen’s iconic skull scarf where users can shop every possible colour combination.
What with McQueen's online revamp as well as the arrival of Karl.com, we can't see ANY work getting done this week - just do you know.
