Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson at the Berlin Premiere
You may have noticed that here at Grazia HQ, we have developed a huge girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence. Star of The Hunger Games (aka: the movie du jour), she first came to our attention during awards season when parading up and down the red carpet in a selection of seriously stylish frocks. And in the last few weeks, we've seen her sartorial star rise even higher as she works the publicity circuit for her new film. Yes, she's wowed the world with one glam gown after another, from a Prabul Gurung number in LA to a Ralph Lauren stunner in London. Phewf, give that girl a holiday, stat!
As Hollywood's newest IT girl, we're sure J-Law has felt an enormous pressure to rise to the fashion challenge. Her fresh face, long tresses and athletic figure give her the perfect canvas to wear some of America's hottest designers. In fact, her blonde bombshell credentials remind us of another golden girl in Hollywood and when Jen wore a red Marchesa number in Germany this weekend, the comparisons to a certain Gossip Girl couldn't be denied. Step forward Blake Lively.
1. Matchy Matchy in Marchesa
Marchesa is a shrewd move for any young Hollywood starlet - not only are the designs red-carpet worthy but co-founder Georgina Chapman is also married to movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Blake is a huge fan of the label (Georgina even starred alongside her in an episode of Gossip Girl) so it was no surprise to see the actress wearing this fab frock for the CinemaCon Awards Gala in April last year. A year later and here's Jennifer at the Berlin premiere on Friday looking almost identical in a red lace dress also from Marchesa with her blonde hair tied back and her leggy legs on show. Did she take inspiration from Blake? Or perhaps she was taking a cue from her character Katniss, dubbed in The Hunger Games as 'The Girl On Fire'. Either way, the style similarities don't end there…
2. The Trench
Any fashionista worth her style salt has a trench in her wardrobe and Blake wore this dip-dye number over her Versace dress when she attended the launch party for Lorraine Schwartz’s jewellery collection in November 2010. Meanwhile, Jennifer paired this more fitted version with newly dark tresses for an appearance on the David Letterman show in May last year.
3. Sheer White Maxi Dress
As muse to Karl Lagerfeld, Blake turned to this Chanel Haute Couture gown for the LA premiere of the Green Lantern. Check out those smoking hot pins! A flash of flesh and flowing golden locks is clearly a winning combination as Jennifer stepped out in this veeeery similar Dolce & Gabbana frock for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Hmm, we can see a trend emerging...
