We could barely believe it when Alice Dellal was announced as the face of Chanel's latest handbag collection. Could the thrash metal drummer known for her half-shaved head, black eyeliner and off-beat style really be replacing Blake Lively as Karl's new muse?
But then we heard the range was called Boy Chanel and that androgynous beauty suddenly made sense. Next came the silent film that saw Alice feasting at a decadent dining table while wearing a funky white hooded jacket and had us seriously impressed by the refreshingly rebellious twist. Now the full campaign images are here, promptly erasing any doubts. In fact, we’re utterly obsessed.
Showcasing the 'new friend boy' bags, the 24-year-old Brit perches on a dressing table in a lavish chateau or curls up on a swanky chaise lounge, presumably after a wild night on the tiles. Yep, although Alice is looking ladylike in a frothy white skirt and matching tweed jacket with a dainty bow in her plaited hair, the punk princess still oozes that trademark edginess. See the tattoos, the ripped fishnet tights and grungey black leather, par exemple. And just check out these boxy beauties:

We swoon. ‘[Karl Lagerfeld] had a crush on this unique, charismatic young lady, who is both a model and musician, during a photo shoot several months ago,’ the French fashion house told WWD. ‘Alice Dellal represents the perfect incarnation of all that is unique about the Boy Chanel handbag collection, which strives [to be] far from conformist notions of femininity.’
Amen to that. See more at boy.chanel.com
