Style Spotlight: Lily Collins Gets a Fashion Gold Star in Chanel, Carven and Dolce & Gabbana

15 March 2012 by

Budding LA based actress and daughter of musician Phil Collins, Lily is no ordinary twenty-two year old. Currently studying broadcast journalism at the University of Southern California, she’s been acting since she was just two-years-old! (Yes two! When she appeared in the BBC series Growing Pains) and the busy bee has been hard at it ever since. With three movies (and several others in post-production) already under her belt, Lily also managed to squeeze-in even more extra curricular activity whilst at high school when she wrote a column for Elle Girl magazine and contributed to Teen Vogue!

Lily had her first (notable) fashion moment at the ripe old age of erm…seventeen when she was dressed by Chanel (!) for the Bal des Débutantes charity ball held in Paris (hardcore fans of The Hills will recall it featuring on the reality TV show back in 2007), and is it any wonder that Lily caught Karl Lagerfeld’s eye, her sparkling CV and sterling style credentials (that Chanel in fact probably cemented) make her a perfect brand ambassador, that and her distinctive look. Lily’s mane of dark hair and head-turning eye-brows have become her trademark- fashion heavy-weight Carine Roitfeld has even warned Lily from ever messing with them, describing her strong brows as what makes her stand out.

But Lily has fashion flare of her own, for major occasions she knows how to pull out the big-guns and make an entrance- you need think back no further than Lily’s Monique Lhuillier moment at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in February this year- the whole fashion world sat-up and took note when she appeared in a floor length, blue embroidered show-stopper.

Lily also has a younger, individual look for less formal occasions and her enviable Chanel wardrobe aside, she calls on a catalogue of less established, feminine yet edgy labels like Carven, Honor and ADAM that ensure she stands out from the crowd.

Dressing your age is key as a member of young Hollywood and Lily nails the balancing act of fun and interesting with a sophisticated finish but she also knows the power of leaning on the big guns like Dolce & Gabbana for high profile events when being noticed is crucial.

And Lily’s going to be firmly under the fashion spotlight over the next few months with Mirror Mirror (her upcoming comedy based on Snow White and also starring Julia Roberts) being imminently released- the Blockbuster to catapult her to mainstream stardom or so we predict; Lily Collins to be the fairest one of all!
