There were lots of celebratory cheers in fash-land last night as the nominations for this year's CFDA Awards were announced. Once again, the resplendent Diane Von Furstenberg took to the stage at her studio in New York City to reveal the nominees and special award recipients, so who is among the lucky few?
Well, we're delighted to see our very own Tabitha Simmons is up for the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design alongside Pamela Love and Irene Neuwirth. Of course, the model-turned-shoe-designer picked up a similiar accolade at the British Fashion Awards in November so we're crossing all fingers for her. Meanwhile, Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen have received a nod for The Row, pitted against Marc Jacobs and the Proenza Schouler boys for Womenswear Designer of the Year. Good luck one and all!
Oh, but there's more. A big congrats (plus massive swoon) goes to Johnny Depp who is due to pick up the Fashion Icon Award at the ceremony on 4th June. Yes, despite his sometimes questionable headgear, the Hollywood hunk has been recognised for his outstanding style through the years. Considering Lady Gaga picked up the same gong last year, we reckon it's a pretty impressive accolade for Mr Depp, if not slightly random. Is it an excuse to throw a bit of eye candy into the proceedings we wonder? Not that Grazia's complaining, of course. See the full list of nominees below...
