Kristen Stewart, Sarah Jessica Parker & Gwyneth Paltrow at Marc Jacobs x Louis Vuitton Exhibition: BEST DRESSED

Following a jaw-dropping show for Louis Vuitton in Paris on Wednesday (where a railway platform, complete with life-sized steam engine, served as the runway) the fash pack were all aboard the party train. Next stop? The Musee des Arts Decoratifs - housed in a wing of the Louvre - for a fabulous shindig thrown in honour of the label's creative genius, Marc Jacobs and his time at the helm (or, to stick with the train metaphor, should that be controls?) of the prestigious house.

With two whole floors of the museum given over to showcasing LV's history (one floor dedicated to brand founder, Mr Louis Vuitton himself and the other to Monsieur Marc) revellers, including Catherine Deneuve and Charlotte Gainsbourg, had plenty to feast their eyes on. They were greeted by powder-puff pink lighting and models bedecked in the most recent Spring/Summer collection (also a popular choice amongst guests), who ushered them into the venue and towards the waiting delights - pieces from his already-iconic 2003 collaboration with Takashi Murakami being the cherry on the cake!

With so many fashion luminaries in attendance (even Karl Lagerfeld put in an appearance) we were treated to some seriously lust-worthy outfits. Kristen Stewart continued her run of sartorial triumphs in her signature mini dress (silver-foxy animal print) and silver-toed shoes. Gwyneth Paltrow switched her allegiance from all-over white (as seen at the Oscars) to head-to-toe black in a slick trouser suit. Dianna Agron represented the Hollywood young guard similarly arrayed in all black - a chic dress with striking emerald necklace.

Sarah Jessica Parker did romantic nostalgia in a maxi dress from the Spring/Summer 2002 collection (we wish we'd snapped up a piece whilst we had the chance!) whilst Anna Dello Russo and Corinne Bailey Rae had the pick of this year's Primavera pretties (Dello Russo abandoning her trademark headbands for a sweet-chic parasol)!

Natalia Vodianova arrived with her new boyfriend (we had to look hard to find a piccie of her alone!) and showcased another sexy look in a striking yellow and black swathed maxi-dress and Caroline Sieber added another splash of colour in her coral-hued frock.

Most fabulous footwear of the evening has to go to the steel-toed pumps, (which we spotted on no less than five people - see if you can find them all in our gallery above!) but we reserve a special mention for the 'pilgrim shoes' (now causing much debate in fash circles) donned by Mr Jacobs himself. Hey, it's his party and he can wear whatever he wants - plus, we secretly quite like them anyway!

A carousel, a train station and now a whole museum dedicated to his work... As Sarah Jessica Parker said to The New York Times, "How is Marc ever going to top that"? We can't wait to find out!
