Jean Paul Gaultier announced as the Creative Director of Diet Coke!

08 March 2012 by

Diet Coke have done a few collaborations in their time, the most recent being with the Mr Karl Lagerfeld himself last year, when we joined him in Paris for the launch of his new and exclusive designed Diet Coke bottles. But having recently announced Parisian designer Jean Paul Gaultier as their new Creative Director, we were wondering what the fashion extraordinaire would have up his sleeve – and here it is.

The first in a series of three short films featuring the designer to be released over the next two days, available to view on Youtube and the Diet Coke Facebook page, it features the creatively challenged pop singer Irene. Jean Paul Gaultier transforms the singer into a cool rock chick in one quick make-over making her a fantastic all black leather and zip biker look after sipping on a can of Diet Coke. The series entitled The Serial Designer Series will see JPG make special appearances and take on various roles from a therapist to a private detective! Slightly bonkers? Perhaps, but we kind of love it and can't wait to see what the next installment has in store for his next fashion victims Eleanor and Bernadette. But in the meantime be sure to keep your eyes peeled for exclusive Jean Paul Gaultier designed Diet Coke bottles and other exciting projects throughout 2012. We heart.
