Style Hunter: Paris' Fash Pack Take Flight in the Bomber Jacket

05 March 2012 by

It all started on Isabel Marant day. Saturday. The day where Marant fans converge to worship at the altar of bronzed and happy hippy girls wearing the most laid back cult-making jeans, slouchy boots and peasant blouses. This loyal fashion following means you'll find more Marant clothes on the rows of the show than even on the catwalk and there's one item in particular - the bomber, of which Isabel has practically trademarked whether in chinoiserie satin or boucle tweed - that we spotted everywhere.

Even if they aren't from the French fashion house, the sporty throw-me-on has permeated the Parisienne crowd. From Derek Blasberg and his very own 'Blasberg' embroidered one to Italian blogger Eleonora Carisi and a baroque animalier version from her friends label, 2dippiche, if you ain't got a bomber, your look won't take flight!

Isabel Marant Bomber Jacket

For the past two seasons this boyish jacket has been picking up a pace (you'll find them on this season's runways such as Topshop Unique, Sportmax, Victoria Beckham and Rag and Bone) and Marant's silky oriental ones have been popular with fash eds for some time, but we all know how a good jacket can create a style storm...

Remember Balmain's shoulders, Celine's nude blazer or the big buzz when biker jackets first returned to the fore? Well, it's the perfect weather for jackets here in Paris...
