If you think Kate Middleton has it all, think again. Yep, Princess Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco has out-done our fave Duchess, after landing herself a contract to be the brand new official face of Gucci – making her actual, err, fashion royalty.
It’s not standard royal etiquette, but Charlotte, who is fourth in line to the throne in Monaco, is more than acquainted with Fash Land. She’s already been shot by Mario Testino to star on the cover of French Vogue, co-founded Ever Manifesto magazine (a mix of fashion and environmentalism) and is often found on Paris Fashion Week’s FROW alongside the likes of Kate Moss and YSL’s Stefano Pilati. And that’s not all – her grandmother is none other than Grace Kelly. (Not. Even. Joking.)
She’s no stranger to Gucci, either - who, FYI, will be hosting a special dinner in honour of the Princess’ new role. The 25-year-old brunette beaut was the equestrian ambassador for the label prior to her latest appointment, and has worn the Gucci gear for the past two years to compete in events such as the 2011 Global Champions tour. Oh yeah, did we mention that she’s also a prize-winning horse rider? *Sigh*.
So, it’s not surprising that Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini hand-picked her for the brand new ad campaign – especially since she once said that she considered Charlotte among her top 15 personal fashion icons. She described Charlotte as ‘the modern royal whose effortless elegance defies contemporary style’. Basically, she makes our beloved Duchess of Cambridge look like your Nan.
Speaking of which, do you think Kate will be landing herself a top modelling contract any time soon? Place your bets now!
