Style spotlight: Elizabeth Olsen

01 March 2012 by

You may well think it’s a given that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s younger sister Elizabeth, or Lizzie (as she prefers to be called) was going to be a little style maven, what with their major style following and fashion emporium, but this just-turned-twenty-three-year old is dancing to her own fashion beat, carving out a glossier, more feminine style that demands plenty of independent merit.

The Californian-born actress whose film debut came at the end of last year with her leading role in Martha Marcy May Marlene was already famous in the fashion industry - well kind of, as it is she who her big fashion designing sisters named their clothing line Elizabeth & James after (Lizzie and their brother (Trent) James) which she has loved for the free clothes! “For two years I didn’t buy anything.”

As well as a lot of Elizabeth & James, Lizzie wears the Olsen twins other uber successful fashion line The Row - from which she lives in a one-of-a-kind grey faux-fur jacket (that never went into production) and is often spotted on the red carpet carrying their super luxe handbags.

Not that Lizzie is a stranger to fashion heavy weights; her expensive tastes extend to Chloe, Celine and Marni’s clean tailoring and uber girlie creations from Chanel, Valentino and Emilio Pucci. Proenza Schouler and Antonio Berardi also strike the perfect balance between lady-like and sexy for this young, budding actress who has just added cool French designer Isabel Marant to her wardrobe. Elizabeth Olsen is unique because unlike so much of young Hollywood she wears the big guns but still manages to dress right for her age and we applaud her. Top marks, Lizzie!
