Twi-hard fans, rejoice! Kristen Stewart has hit Paris Fashion Week. The girl who once was considered a fashion pariah – with designers refusing to dress her for the red carpet – was front row at the Balenciaga show this morning, the first of her appointments as the face of their fragrance.
K-Stew had arrived in Paris the night before dressed in her ubiquitous Converse and toting a low-key rucksack. But she scrubbed up for the show this morning, wearing high-waisted leather trousers and a floral shirt. Very Nicolas Ghesquiere!
The actress sat alongside fellow fragrance face Charlotte Gainsbourg, actresses Clemence Poesy and Salma Hayek as well as Anna Wintour on the front row to watch the sci-fi inspired Balenciaga show. Perhaps she was eyeing up the modern interpretations of tiger and leopard print teams with metallic trousers. Or the Star Trek embellished jumpers.
‘Balenciaga has always stood out to me,’ Kristen said at the time of being signed as the brand’s fragrance muse. ‘Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke tome then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool.’ The feeling’s mutual for Balenciaga’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere who thinks the star has a ‘radical spirit’. Radical – but increasingly fashwan, it seems….
