Kate Middleton Has Arrived at Fortnum & Mason Wearing a Blue Coat

The sun is shining, spring is in the air and what better way to kick off the month of March than with a dose of Middleton-ness? That's right, Kate fans, the Duchess of Cambridge is in our fair capital bright and early this morning to visit Fortnum & Mason with her granny-in-law.

Yep, although she's continuing her royal duties without William, Kate has the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall by her side for today's engagement. Arriving at the luxury store, the trio were greeted by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson and we can look forward to Queenie unveiling a plaque to mark the renovation of Piccadilly.

So what is Kate wearing? Well, the Duchess looks as elegant as ever in a blue tweed dress coat with two yellow daffodils pinned to her lapel in honour of Saint David's Day. Clarence House have confirmed the single-breasted, collarless design comes from M Missoni, the Italian brand's diffusion line. But rather than popping to the shops to buy a brand new ensemble, Kate has once again chosen a piece that is no longer on sale — in fact, it's from the Autumn Winter 2010 collection. The outfit is completed by white topaz earrings by Links of London, sheer nude tights and ladylike grey suede heels by Rupert Sanderson — the very same Malone pumps that we first saw at The Order Of The Garter service last summer [above right].

According to the brilliant HRH Duchess Kate blog, the 30-year-old is wearing a cornflower blue Zara dress underneath her coat — the very same that she sported on the day after the Royal wedding. Oh, how we love her recessionista ways...

Of course, the DoC has already nailed several solo outings in recent months. First, she popped into the National Portrait Gallery for a preview of the Lucian Freud exhibition wearing a grey coat dress by Jesire, which caused a fashion frenzy as her loyal followers (including Grazia Daily!) frantically searched for its origins. Then she stepped out at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool swathed in a knee-length Hobbs coat, followed by a trip to Oxford when she wore another fit-and-flare number, this time by Orla Kiely.

And there's more to come! On March 8th, Kate will join the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on a trip to Leicester that will launch the Royal jubilee tour. Until then, we want to hear what you think of the Duchess' latest look...
