Alexa Chung and Kate Moss at Stella McCartney's LFW bash
When Grazia Daily bumped into Alexa Chung at the Topshop Unique show this London Fashion Week, we couldn't resist grilling her on THAT performance at Stella McCartney's glitzy shindig — you know, the one when she was hypnotised by a magician before levitating above a bed of daggers. As you do. ‘I was pretty scared before, but nervous more that I had to perform in front of Anna Wintour and Rihanna,’ the style-setter told us. And quite right too. The mere thought is enough to get us all goosebump-ely, but to add to the fear factor, we've discovered our Chungster stepped up to the challenge at the very last minute. Yeekz!
Alexa Chung's balancing act
So the story goes: Mossy became so enthralled by illusionist Hans Klok after seeing him perform on The One Show (the supermodel LOVES her Brit telly, dontcha know) that she requested him for her pal's shindig. Talking to The Sun, Hans revealed Kate 'called Stella to say she wanted me to be the magic attraction for her show.' And being the daredevil she is, Kate was keen to perform herself in the dangerous sword spectacle but, because of her arm injury, she sadly couldn't — and so Alexa stepped in.
Aww, poor Kate. In case you haven't heard, the catwalker is suffering from a nerve disorder that has rendered her 'temporarily paralysed'. She was diagnosed with the condition earlier this month after she woke up at the Ritz hotel in Paris unable to move her right arm and hand.
Although we're reassured that Mosskins will make a full recovery, a limp limb is the LAST thing you need during LFW, especially when your BFF is throwing the biggest bash in town. Grrr.
