We've said it before and we'll say it again: Angelina Jolie is morphing into Kate Middleton.
It all started when the A-list actress arrived at the Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills last month. Angelina's head of glossy brunette curls ignited comparisons to the Duchess of Cambridge, not least because her barnet was teamed with a black lace Michael Kors gown, similiar to Kate's red carpet attire of choice.
THEN Angelina was seen sporting numerous floaty gowns by Kate's favourite designer, Jenny Packham. Could it be that Ange is the latest repli-Kate? we asked.
The answer, it seems, is yes. Because the latest piece of evidence in the morphing process emerged at this weekend's Oscar Awards when Angelina wore a sumptuous gown by Atelier Versace. It instantly drew comparisons to our DoC and the Alexander McQueen frock she wore to The Sun Military Awards in December. Black? Check. Floor-length and strapless? Yep. Velvet? Uh-huh. Okay, Ange may have added a randomly cocked leg, but you get the jist.
And yet the comparisons don't end there — oh no. In fact, Grazia Daily has discovered that the clutch La Jolie was sporting on the night is by Jaime Mascaró and is The. Very. Same. creation K-Middy chose on that night back in December. WE GASP.
The velvet clutch featuring an oversized bow is available online at the brilliant Pretty Ballerinas and retails for £125 — a purse-friendly price for a superstar actress, not to mention a princess. And our Pretty Ballerinas pals tell us that although Kate Middleton bought the bag herself, Angelina Jolie was gifted with the item.
Of course, Angelina isn't the only copy-Kate to emerge from the Hollywood Hills. Katie Holmes has made no secret of her admiration for the Duchess while Anne Hathaway has gushed about being 'enchanted' by the Royal couple.
So who'll be the next Duchess doppelgänger? Will Angelina start wearing sheer tights and nude courts with navy blue shift dresses? And — question of all questions — will Brad Pitt start dressing like Prince William? We can only hope.
