The Oscar Awards is the biggest night for Hollywood's glitterati and Grazia Daily loves watching our favourite stars working the red carpet in their glam gowns and seeing the hilarious, tearful and sometimes downright bizarre acceptance speeches that follow a big win. So in anticipation of the 84th Annual Academy Awards taking place at the Kodak Theatre this Sunday, not only have we trawled through the best and worst Oscar frocks (click through the gallery above), but we've also compiled our top Oscar moments...
'Shakespeare In Love' beat off stiff competition from 'Saving Private Ryan' to win 7 awards in 1999. But the most memorable thing about that night was Gwyneth Paltrow's speech upon accepting the gong for Best Actress. Swathed in a pink Ralph Lauren gown, her teary tribute to lost and loved ones lasted a whopping 3 minutes and left barely a dry - or should that be open? - eye in the house. Click here to relive that epic moment.
Not just content with winning Best Actor for his role in 'The Pianist', Adrien Brody planted this smacker on presenter Halle Berry as he accepted his award in 2003. Well, you would, wouldn't you?!
Winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2007 for her role in 'Dreamgirls' catapulted Jennifer Hudson from talent show runner-up to international superstar. The world, and us, revelled in her moment. Click here to relive the moment George Clooney presented J-Hud with the golden statuette.
And last but by no means least, 2007 also saw Martin Scorsese FINALLY take home the gong for Best Director for 'The Departed'. The fact that he'd lost out in this category five times before is still a sore point amongst movie buffs but his efforts were at last rewarded. Watch the heart-warming moment here.
