Hurrah – new bag alert. Bora Aksu, who we heart here at Grazia Daily HQ, has teamed up with Bracher Emden to create a selection of fabulous bags which are set to be debuted at London Fashion Week tomorrow (eep!) Luckily for you, we’ve managed to get some sneak pics of the collection before anyone else.
The bags are crafted from supersoft leather in a variety of shades (can we take this as a clue to the palette for Bora’s new collection? We think YES), and all the designs feature chunky piping to the sides in a signature Aksu organic swirl.
Aksu has described his design style as ‘romantic with a darker twist’ and since graduating from Central St Martins in 2002 he has remained at the centre of the British fashion scene; if not emerging as one of its loudest, brightest stars (>looks sideways at Henry Holland<) then certainly remaining a consistently proficient designer, who has garnered the respect of his peers and fashion editors alike. Dolce & Gabbana purchased his entire debut collection, for instance.
Richard Emden, who established Bracher Emden in 2002 and remains the creative director of the label, is well known for designing futuristic, yet feminine bags and accessories, of which this collaboration with Bora Aksu is no exception. Available from tomorrow, the bags will retail at between £200 and £500 and are available in the two designs shown here, alongside another clutch bag. Colour wise, as well as the mushroom and orange above, the bags are available in black, cloud grey and fuchsia. Like we said: hurrah!
