She was the teeny fashion tot that warmed our stony hearts when she first blazed onto the scene over three years ago. Now, the editor of online magazine Rookie is setting off to New York for fashion week. In this brilliant short video Tavi has done for the NY Magazine, she shows us what she’s packing for her seventh season attending NYFW. The older, wiser and no longer be-speckled Miss Gevinson, who described her first ever NYFW as “ Exciting, sparkly and dazzling) has made the executive decision to attend just three shows this season, but she has kept tight-lipped about what FROWS we can look forward to seeing her on.

And Miss G was FULL of advice for successful fashion week packing, which truthfully, we reckon is spot on. Tavi explains how she packs the night before and is up “super late” to avoid wasting time the morning on the shows. Oh we’ve been there all right – working ourselves into a sweaty frenzy standing defeated beside a bed loaded with discarded not-quite-right perfectly good dresses.

Tavi neatly packs her rather modest suitcase, including a pink tutu, lots of brightly coloured patterned shirts and tops, something leopard natch, and a brightly coloured jacket with jokes on it, which Tavi explains, “This jacket brings out good vibes in people”. How sweet is she?!

We were also rather thrilled and surprised to hear that the multitalented teenager has just provided the voice for a character in an animated short film, which will be screened at a party during g New York Fashion Week. Tavi also sings Neil Young’s Heart of Gold in the short, and after the nod of approval from Neil himself, will be performing it at the NYFW party. It seems Tavi has gone all Zooey Deschanel with her all singing, all gorgeous, shy American girl thing. And we are lapping it right up!
