This trend first caught our eye when Madonna arrived at the London premiere of W.E. earlier this year wearing a gothic-inspired black Gaultier dress and Dolce & Gabbana cape, accessorised with red leather driving gloves [above left]. An unusual choice perhaps, but, of course, this wasn’t the first - or last - time we've seen her Madgesty be-gloved.
Now, we obviously love the Queen of Pop and don't mean to be catty, but it's clear her cover-ups are a clever styling trick. Years of macrobiotic dieting and intense four-hour-a-day training sessions have given the 53-year-old a super athletic figure, but it's taken its toll on her hands.

Cut to last night and we spied Sarah Jessica Parker at the amFAR Gala Dinner in New York sporting a pair of white leather gloves with her pink Oscar de la Renta gown [above left]. So is Madonna’s trick catching on amongst A-listers trying to conceal their age? We think it's rather clever and terribly chic.
Trust Madonna to kick-start another fashion trend. She always has been en vogue... But what do you make of these glove lovers?
