Oooh, the countdown is really on now! With New York Fashion Week starting TOMORROW! and having spotted Victoria Beckham jetting to the Big Apple, we’re all sorts of giddy here at Grazia HQ. And it seems that Miuccia Prada is feeling the fashion week fever too, because she's designed a limited edition collection of handbags to celebrate the occasion. How faaabulous!
In recent seasons, Miu Miu accessories have become some of the most coveted on the catwalk. Those metal bow belts and heels were the hottest must-haves last year, and this season their pearl necklaces and matelassé leather range of bags are rammed into every Fashion Editor’s bursting-at-the-seams wardrobe.
And we can imagine this limited edition collection will be snapped up just as quickly. The range is made up of a whooping 46 ladylike bags, each handmade in 17 different combinations of luxury materials including ostrich, python and crocodile, and inspired by vintage styles. Starting from approximately £940, each of the bags also come with an individual ID card. The cuteness! Like a little passport for a very fashion-jet-set accessory.
Our favourite from the collection for these chillier times is the Lurex Bag in Ardesia and Pervinca, a gunmetal coloured glittery number mixed with blue/grey snakeskin with the gold metal trim (scroll through the gallery above for a first look). Come Spring and warmer days, we’d quite fancy the Nappa Cipria too - a cream leather tote with gold stud embellishments, perfectly combining the strong Spring/Summer trend for pretty accents, but with a tougher more everyday-worthy edge.
The bags will arrive into the flagship stores in New York, London, Milan and Paris on the first day of each of their fashion week shows. That means the first ones arrive in the New York flagship store TOMORROW! See you at the airport...
