WATCH Agyness Deyn as the Leading Lady in 'Here' by Tilda Swinton

26 January 2012

We’ve written about Agyness Deyn’s move into acting numerous times, but still seen very little of the model-turned-thesp in action. We know that she is due to play a stripper in the film 'Pusher', out later this year, and have even seen a shot of her in costume, but we’ll have to wait and see whether she can take her clothes off in a believable manner.

But today, a 15-minute short film has been released, featuring Agy and only Agy. Made to promote The Luxury Collection Hotels and Resorts, it could have been a naff never-ending advert, but thanks to a team of very cool and very talented people, the result is quite mesmerising.

The concept was thought up by New York based jewellery designer and actor, Waris Ahluwalia, it was co-written by Tilda Swinton – who Waris met when filming 'I Am Love' - directed by 'I Am Love'’s director Luca Guadagnino, and styled by Heidi Bivens (ex-girlfriend of Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend, Justin Theroux, FYI). The film is a journey through America, as Agy’s character follows a mysterious trail of notes and clues, through Vermont, Arizona and finally leading her to a beach in Hawaii. It is beautifully shot and Ms Deyn looks stunning throughout, wearing a selection of Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and Versace.

"I’ve always wanted to be an actress,' the model said at a screening of 'Here' on Tuesday. "To work with Tilda, with Luca, even with Waris, who’s a good friend and I’ve known for ages, it was a dream." And according to Tilda, “We wanted it to be ethereal, dreamlike, but also, well, sort of a thriller.”

We should point out now, that it is still impossible to judge Agy’s acting skills. The film is completely silent, so we still don’t know if she can do any fancy accents. BUT we can say that we totally believed that she was on an adventure that she was finding all a bit baffling, cue baffled face, and that she genuinely is delighted at the end, cue a little laugh, when the trail is complete. However, what we do know is that we could watch her face for hours, and surely that is half the acting battle! Judge for yourselves by clicking play below...
