We Love Lanvin's New Eyewear Range!

23 January 2012 by

It was only a matter of time before the man behind the coolest specs in fashion, Alber Elbaz, stepped up to the plate and designed his own line of opticals. Hot on the tails of Lanvin’s first line of sunglasses, the French fashion house have announced today that the new eyewear will be available online and in stores this Spring.

We’ve had a cheeky preview of the range and we’ve got to say, huge nods of approval over here at Grazia HQ. Would it be weird to wear them even if we have 20/20 vision? Who cares? We’re going to anyway.

The collection is divided into two - a retro range and a more modern industrial one. The retro collection is inspired by Art Deco jewellery with feminine and curved frame shapes, which nod back to the elegance of the 1930’s. It includes a reeeeaaaally sweet amber and clear acetate balliage-style pair which are embellished with tiny girly rhinestones. Win-win in our view (pardon the pun).

The other industrial style caters for men and women, and includes more geometric shaped frames, one of which is totes inspired by Alber’s own famous frames. The men’s horn-effect pair shows off visible screws and thick plastic frames in a cool range of colours. Our absolute fave is the blue one shown below.

And what better way for the maison to show off their new collection that with a video! We’d be lying if we said it was as entertaining as that Pitbull-models dancing-A/W 2012 collection youtube sensation, but it is darn interesting to see behind the scenes chez Lanvin. Enjoy!
