Kate Moss Wears Grey Flares To Celebrate Her 38th Birthday

Oh Mossy, you were a picture of sophistication you were last night. Scrap that, two pictures! It seems the betrothed birthday girl had a very quiet celebration for her 38th this year. After a quiet lunch in Mayfair with her husband Jamie Hince and her hairstylist friend James Brown, the couple went home for a quick outfit change, and then back out again for dinner with Stella McCartney, Fran Cutler and other suitably cool types.

For her lunch date earlier in the day, Kate nailed the smart-casual look like only she can. She paired a really cool pair of cropped grey flares with a furry cape and ladylike courts. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Flares are STILL having a moment! We haven’t seen them dressed up like this before and think she’s done stellar work. Nice one, Moss.

Later for the intimate dinner party at The Dorchester Hotel, Mrs Hince slipped into a shimmery LBD under a white fluffy coat with black Christian Louboutin heels, just like the sophisticated married woman she is now! It seems the crazy days of four-day fiestas when Lionel Richie serenaded her (yes, that actually happened, at her 35th birthday party, no less) are well and truly over. And her birthday style has certainly matured along the way. At previous shindigs, Mossy has really gone for it fashion-wise. A slinky white frock for her 33rd was a high point, as was that unforgettable Chanel jumpsuit covered in gold stars for her 34th, and let's not forget the glitzy blue gown she celebrated her 30th in.

Nonetheless, we highly approve of the evolution of Kate's birthday style, and hope her 39th year will see even more outfit changes and tricky-to-master trends. Bring it on!
