That's right, fash fans, Moschino's sister line is moving from its regular spot on Milan's Fashion Week schedule and coming to our fair capital. The venue is still to be announced but we do know that the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection will be shown on Saturday, 18th February between 1.30pm-3.30pm. EEEP. Meanwhile, the Moschino main line collection will show during Milan Fashion Week as usual.
'To debut in London with Moschino Cheap And Chic is something I have been thinking about for a while,' says Creative Director of Moschino, Rossella Jardini. 'To have presence in a new city gives the younger line a stronger, more autonomous personality. London is renowned for its contemporary style and famous sense of humoUr making it the perfect place to exhibit Moschino Cheap And Chic’s DNA and energy.'
Katy Perry and Keira Knightley wearing Moschino Cheap And Chic
Launched in the late Eighties, Cheap And Chic is famous for a quirky sense of fun and colourful cuteness -- see the lashings of sequins, feminine ruffles and bold palette of pinks, greens and yellows. Fans include kooky-cool types like Katy Perry, who was recently spotted in London wearing a telephone box number from the brand's Autumn / Winter 2011 catwalk under a classic trench coat. And lest we forget Keira Knightley looking cutsey at the Toronto Film Festival in a Forties-esque floral frock from the Resort 2012 collection. Yep, C&C is set to bring a bucket-load of sparkles to next month's LFW -- and hopefully a huddle of starlets on the front row too...
UPDATE: Belstaff hits London Fashion Week
After Moschino Cheap and Chic announced that they are to show during next month’s London Fashion Week, today another brand, long associated with Milan Fashion Week, hits the Brit schedule.
Belstaff will present its first men's and women's AW12 collections on Sunday February 19th, 3.30pm-5.30pm. The iconic brand that was established in 1924 in Stoke-on-Trent, has long been based in Italy, so this move may be the first to reclaim its British heritage. Welcome back!
