Exciting news, you guys! Miu Miu have just dropped their Spring / Summer 2012 campaign and would you look who's starring in it? None other than the oh-so-pretty Mia Wasikowska!

The Australian actress has become a fash-darling since arriving on our radar after playing two of the most iconic literary characters, Alice in Wonderland and Jane Eyre. But the first hint that Mia may be a Miu Miu girl came over a year ago when she bagged a front row spot to the Paris Fashion Week show back in October 2010 [see below]. She sat beside Hailee Steinfeld, the current face of Prada's sister brand, and looked totally Miu Miu-tastic in a cutsey frock with a black bow collar.

Fast forward to today and here she is striking a pose in her first major campaign - and doesn't she look perfectly at home? We say yes. Mia works the collection's folksy vibe brilliantly in statement prints and feminine shapes, even holding her own under a tent-like cape tied with heavy black velvet ribbon. That ginormous bouffant and those sultry red lips certainly help. In fact, the vibrant campaign doesn't show a hint of the grey shirts, black skirts, ashen roses and stomp-worthy velvet mules that we saw when the collection hit the catwalk.

Miu Miu is famous for tapping hotly-tipped actresses to front their campaigns, from Vanessa Paradis and Selma Blair to Katie Holmes and *ahem* Lindsay Lohan. And, of course, little Hailee. So how will the world react to Mia replacing the little 15-year-old, hmm?
Only recently, we were reporting on the controversy the latest ads caused because, apparently, the shot of Hailee sitting on a train track 'irresponsibly' encouraged teen suicide (say whaa?). So has Miuccia decided to ditch Steinfeld in favour of a less-controversy-causing actress? Either way, we're loving the results and are rather enjoying saying 'Mia for Miu Miu', which helps. What are your thoughts?
