Beyonce's Daughter Blue Ivy Carter Cries on Jay-Z's New Track, 'Glory' - Cute or Creepy?

10 January 2012 by

From the moment Beyonce Knowles popped out a baby daughter, Blue Ivy Carter was destined for big things. As we said at the time, with such an unique name and superstar parents, this tot has got what it takes to conquer the music world. Little did we know that just one day later, we'd be listening to Baby Blue's musical debut...

Oh yes, so enchanted is Jay-Z by his baby daughter, born on Saturday, that he couldn't resist laying down a track (or whatever it is these rapper types do) in celebration. And who's providing backing vocals? BFF Kanye West, perhaps? Protégé Rihanna, maybe? Nope, it's Baby Blue herself, now with her own rapper name: B.I.C.

'The most amazing feeling I feel, words can't describe what I'm feeling for real / Baby, I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you,' Jay gushes in the track (named 'Glory') as his newborn gurgles in the background. 'You're the child of destiny / you're the child of my destiny / you're my child with the child from Destiny's Child.' AWW, see what he's done there? And at the end of the song, the sound of a crying Blue Ivy can clearly be heard. Hmm, cute or creepy? We can't decide...

The song also reveals Blue Ivy was conceived in Paris and sadly, Beyonce previously suffered a miscarriage. 'Last time the miscarriage was so tragic,' he raps. 'We was afraid you'd disappear / But nah baby you magic.'

Yesterday, the proud parents released an official statement about the birth, saying: 'Hello Hello Baby Blue! We are both happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, and we are both in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.'

This leaves us wondering whether B.I.C will grow up to be the next child singing superstar a la Willow Smith. Might she join her parents in forming an all-singing, all-dancing family troop in a Von Trapp Family Singers stylee? We hope so. And will this spark a trend for celebrity babies to appear on their parents' tunes? Either way, Blue's first musical cameo is unlike anything we've ever heard before. Victoria Beckham must be kicking herself.

So have a listen to 'Glory' below and let us know your thoughts...
