Last night’s best dressed! Meryl Streep vs Rooney Mara

05 January 2012 by

Rooney Mara continued her fash-tour for the premieres of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo last night, this time hitting up Madrid with not one but two show stopping outfits.

First up in the afternoon was another Givenchy number; this time Rooney chose a khaki and black military inspired jacket from Ricardo Tisci’s pre-fall 2011 collection.

Later in the evening, Ms. Mara wowed in Rodarte, sporting a stunning cream and black polka dot dress from the Mulleavy sisters Autumn / Winter 2011 collection. Rooney worked the halter gown with her hair slicked to the side and pared down makeup. On reflection, this might be our favourite look from the fash-tour so far. But what do you think?

Also in attendance in Madrid was Daniel Craig (who smartened up his act after Tuesday’s jeans and trainers combo, by donning a suit for the occasion! And doesn’t he look smart?) His wife, Rachel Weisz, also appeared and looked gorgeous in a black Alexander McQueen Spring / Summer 2012 dress and stingray belt, with an appropriately Spanish ruffled hem.

Meanwhile, in London we were celebrating the premiere of The Iron Lady, with the lovely Meryl Streep. Meryl was wearing another Stella McCartney dress (she also wore Stella to the Iron Lady photocall in New York, remember?) Last night, the Streep wore Stella’s black dress under a navy blue cocoon coat and accessorized with a super sized antiqued gold necklace.

Also looking fab last night was one-to-watch Alexandra Roach, who appeared with Harry Lloyd on the blue carpet. Alexandra plays the young Margaret in The Iron Lady, and last night she wore a gorgeous floral printed dress by Emilia Wickstead and patent Louboutin pumps for the London premiere. Good choice!

Brandt Hardin (Fri Jan 06 00:36:43 GMT 2012): Meryl may be headed for another Oscar nod for the Iron Lady but she’s never looked better than on the Zombie Walk of Fame as a featured diva at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/10/00-countdown-to-halloween-divas-of.html.
