Ab Fab – should they quit while they’re ahead?

It was the most anticipated TV moment of Christmas. After 20 years, Edina and Patsy returned to our TV screens in brand new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, one of our favourite ever shows.

The terrible twosome hadn’t changed a bit – even if everything around them had. Patsy’s beehive was as rigid as ever (possibly due to the stash of narcotics hidden in it) while Eddie was still more immature than her jailbait daughter Saffy. Naturally Bubble was as mad as ever.

The first episode had a dream sequence featuring The Killing’s Sarah Lund and a classic Ab Fab moment when Patsy mistook her Stella McCartney clutch for a mobile. The second –shown on New Year’s Day – featured cameos from Emma Bunton and Lulu, as Eddie’s only remaining PR clients. A third is due to be aired later this year.

And it doesn’t stop there. This week, Jennifer Saunders tweeted that she’s hoping to make an Absolutely Fabulous movie next year. Eddie and Pats take on Hollywood? Now that, we’d like to see.

But, not everyone was impressed with the comeback, with some on Twitter and Facebook saying the show had lost its spark.

We want to know what you think. Did you watch the new episodes of Ab Fab? If so, which was your favourite? And what about the film - do you want to see Patsy’s beehive on the big screen? Or is it time for her and Eddie to hang up their vintage Lacroix for good? Let us know.

Mhairi Elliott (Wed Jan 04 16:42:12 GMT 2012): Ab Fab should definitely return! I was rather young when the original episodes were shown and so hadn't had the chance to appreciate the comic genius before but was laughing out loud and looking forward to more of the girls antics after the new episodes.
John Collins (Wed Jan 04 17:25:15 GMT 2012): TBH Ab Fab is perhaps the only comedy to return on many occasions and still be of a high standard, I agree that it was good that they only came back for three episodes, a full series probably would have runied it, but the movie will be really good!
Ashley Lynn (Thu Jan 05 04:11:20 GMT 2012): The episodes were redonkulously hilarious and I'm eagerly anticipating the Ab Fab movie! :o)
Vicki Hodge (Sat Feb 18 17:30:53 GMT 2012): I so adore the series....everybody is dated after there 15 seconds....this was life, please make the movie....
