We already know Olivier Theyskens dons his own sky-high platforms to ensure they're comfy for his customers. And his hairstylist, Odile Gilbert, has admitted the designer likes models 'to look like him'. Now, Theyskens has revealed the designing process involves imagining he's a woman. Uh-huh.
'There's been this shift in my mind that I basically… more and more put myself mentally in the place of girls,' the designer tells Into the Gloss. 'To imagine girls - would I like this if I was there? Would I want to dress like that? Would I like to wear that jacket? ...It's more like me as I imagine I would like my clothes to be if I was a cool girl.'
Hmm, this has us wondering what if Mr Theyskens actually was a 'cool girl'? He's already got the ridiculously glossy hair and has nailed the black guyliner, so we reckon he'd look rather fabulous in his own creations.
And thanks to a touch of Photoshopping, we can confirm he does! Yes Olivier, you look super-cool in these flowing gowns from Theyskens Theory's Autumn / Winter 2011 collection. Possibly cooler than Grazia Daily ever could, for that matter. Job well done, mister.
Don't you agree, folks?
